Two Large On-Site Sales & Site Clearances in Colchester & Horsham

G J Wisdom & Co Auctioneers & Valuers have been busy this year already with 2 very large on-site auctions, held by order of the landlord, following the expiry of a Tort Notice.

In January, we were instructed to sell and clear the site in Surrey, which housed 33 Modular Buildings, with some fully fitted and weighing in excess of 10T. This was no easy task, but by working with the buyers from the UK & Ireland, with their logistics companies, we managed to have the site cleared and handed back to the landlord, ready for re-letting in the near future.

In addition to the 33 Modular Buildings, there were large mobile dolly's, 40ft container, hundreds of boards of material as well as large stocks of fixtures, fittings, consumables, workbenches & much more.

The sale of 172 lots attracted 39 buyers, of which, as mentioned, several were in Ireland.

Straight in February, we received another instruction to lot and sell on-site, the contents of the former coach builders 'A.Smith Great Bentley', a well known and long standing business in Frating, Colchester.

Shane Wisdom initially went to site to review the logistics, and it's fair to say, the 5 acres site was impressive, and immediately it was clear this would be a big on-site sale and operation.

Taking four days to lot, we published the on-line catalogue and marketed nationally before offering three full days on-site viewing, which attracted over 300 people through the doors and a total of 480 bidders registered for the on-line auction.

It was therefore no surprise, that the 769 lot aucton, would result in 179 buyers from all over the UK & Ireland again. The 5 five day collections & clearance was also a huge undertaking, closing our offices for the week so we could all be on-site to manage the logistics, we managed to hand the site back to the client on the last day.
